Avedon Lighting Assignment on Street.

Here are 5 set of photos with "Avedon Lighting" for a class. I did the same assignment long time ago in studio but this time we brought it on the street, which is much harder.
Also, we are limited to only 5 images per person, try to do it like a roll of film.

Found a white wall and people passed by. Here are the result.

Meeting New People

I am not sure how I feel about this when a class want you to meet somebody new and you will need to take 5 frames of them.

I am not a sociable people person that will just randomly talk a lot. Photographing Strangers is always a big challenge for me. It does not like in any event or meeting, stopping people on street and ask about them and photograph them just doesn't sound right to me. Everyone seems alerted to what is happening around in the city and most will not trust an Asian Man right away, which is normal. So here is what I got.

Nice to meet you anyway. Fred and Alex.

Chinese New Year Parade 2012

Chinese New Year Parade is always a fun time. After meeting Kenny the Clown in China Town I meet Ronald McDonald, a replica one.

The parade started at about 5pm. Everyone knows the "Block Long Dragon" will be the key for the event. It is a event full of running billboards in an acceptable level but I am surprised how many schools were there.

Kenny The Clown

This is not the first time I seen an clown in San Francisco. I always wondering what is it about.

On Feb. 11, 2012. It was the San Francisco Chinatown Chinese New Year Parade. Although the real Chinese New Year has been passed a week ago base on the Lunisolar Calendar. Seems like San Franciscian will have it late every year.

"I do silly things seriously." Kenny The Clown said. A questions started our conversation, I asked him how many animals shaped balloons in an hour as all the people walking by and parents donated a dollar or two, sometimes. He said that he never do the counting, so we worked together and created some portrait.

Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous

Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous is a local ice cream store in Dog Patch San Francisco. It will be their 2 years anniversary in May, 2012.

"The menu changes almost everyday, and the favorites are created base on season" I asked Mr. Miscellaneous once. personally addicted to all of their coffee favorites and anything with caramel. This is one of the place I will highly recommended if you want some sweet stuff.

They also have homemade cookies which I haven't try yet.
